A successful and stress-free move starts with planning and organization. Therefore, we recommend that you consider your move a project: plan the work and then work the plan.
Some rules of thumb apply in all situations:

Have a garage sale and consider donating some items
Back-up computer files and keep them in the spacemaker
Keep a floor plan of the new house
Set aside and label keys to give to the new homeowners
Get the most out of your suitcases: fill them with clothes or      other items
Organize your move in a notebook to keep all moving-related information and keep your moving-related receipts      labeled and in a safe place. Get spacemaker to keep personal moving items handy
Keep a list of moving expenses in your notebook, as some may be tax deductible
Create an "Open First" box to open upon arrival. Things to pack in this one includes medications, first-aid kit,      toiletries, towels, pet food , and any other necessities
Pack a special box for children to open upon arrival. Include such things as books, CD player and CD's, stuffed      animals, a blanket, photos, etc.
